Description
This archival television segment, produced by KVOS Channel 12 and originally broadcast on 18 June 1964, documents the claims of George Van Tassel — an American aircraft mechanic and later a prominent figure in early American contactee culture.
Van Tassel is best known for founding the Integratron, a domed structure built near Giant Rock in the Mojave Desert, which he claimed was designed to facilitate time travel and rejuvenation based on instructions he said were given to him by visitors from Venus. He also organised the annual Giant Rock Interplanetary Spacecraft Convention, held at the site from 1953 until his death in 1978.
The KVOS segment captures Van Tassel's public statements during the height of the contactee era, when a number of American citizens claimed ongoing in-person contact with humanoid beings from other planets. While Van Tassel's specific claims have not been substantiated, the segment is preserved as an important archival document of early UFO culture in the United States.
This recording is held by the KVOS Channel 12 Films collection at the Center for Pacific Northwest Studies, Western Washington University. We include it here as historical context rather than as evidence for a specific UAP event.
