Cyprus occupies a strategic position in the Eastern Mediterranean — a crossroads between Europe, Asia, and Africa. Its clear skies, low light pollution in rural areas, and active aviation and maritime traffic make it a uniquely valuable location for the observation and study of anomalous aerial phenomena.
Why Cyprus?
The Republic of Cyprus sits at the intersection of three continents. This geography gives our research centre access to a rich variety of observational data — from commercial flights crossing overhead, to naval movements, to meteorological and atmospheric phenomena unique to the region.
Our Coverage Area
The UAP Cyprus Centre focuses on the airspace and maritime domains of the Republic of Cyprus, with additional attention to the broader Eastern Mediterranean region. We work with volunteer observers and instrumented camera stations distributed across the island.
